| TABA AmCham applied for TUSEV membership (Third Sector foundation of Turkey)

Third sector foundation was established to develop the third sector which is composed of Foundations and Associations near the other two essentials of our Democracy. Public and Private sector. Founders of TUSEV are Prof. Dr. Üstün Ergüder, Rahmi Koç and Sakıp Sabancı. Chairman of TÜSEV Mr. Zekai Baloğlu invited TABA – AmCham to a conference at Sabancı Center on June 6 Wednesday between 9 – 18 hours. Panelists in the morning session were the followings :

Speakers shared the following messages in their presentations.
- Strategic importance of Turkey will continue even grow in the 21. st Century when the relationships between East and west, Mediterranean and Baltic, Middle east and Central Asian, Central and Eastern Europe Countries will have the utmost priority.
- Turkey is in the center of all the above routes and has to integrate to European Union and Global economy in order to maintain her strategic importance.

c) International legal frames.
- Non governmental Organizationes are vitally inportant since Turkey’s integration in the European Associations and Foundations is much easier and quicker than the integration to EU.
- If Turkish members take part in the European third sector institutions, it will help to promote the country , entrepreneurial spirit and transparency.
- It will also help to facilitate the implementation stage after the adaptation of the legal frames.
- The most urgent point here is the government coordination with TÜSEV prior to the amendment of the Associations law
