M. Akif Işık

 Mehmet Akif IŞIK was born June 1959. He completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara. In 1978 he went to London in order to improve his English skills. At the end of 1979 he procieded to Texas, USA after completing English language courses.
He recieved a BS degree in Political Science in 1986. He also recieved a BS degree in Economics in 1987. As he was a student he served as President of LU Political Science Association (FORUM) between 1985-1987. He also served as a President of Economics Association between 1986-1987. He served as a senator in Lamar University Student Senate.
Between 1982-1984 he served as President of Amerikan Turkish Association of Southeast Texas.
Mr. Işık, Joined Eczacıbaşı Holding in 1988 as a Chief Ecomomic Analist as he returned Turkey.
Mr.Işık was also a members of the team who prepared the TUSIAD’s Country Strategies Project for the years 2000.
In 1992 Mr.Işık left Eczacıbaşı Group and formed Santek Textile Company. In 1993 he formed Santrade Int. Trading Company which today has offices in Moscow, Dubai and represantatives in Baton Rouge and New York. Santrade has a trading activites with 48 countries.
In 1993 he joined as a major partner to Klip Music Company. Which ranks fifth in Turkish record industry. In August 2000, Kiss Entertainmant Group purchased fifty percent of Klip Music Companies shares.
In 1995 he formed Sampet an Insurance Broker Company. In 1995 became World Trade Networks (WTN) Turkish office a group which also operates in sixty countries.
In 2000 Mr. Işık formed as a Major Partner SANNET an ISP. (Internet Service Provider and a Communication Company)
Mr Işık is board member and General Secretary of American Chambers of Commerce in Turkey (TABA). He is President of 1903 Beşiktaş Businessmen Association, He is also member of numerous Busines Associations and Social Clubs.
