1998-Present Bechtel /Turkey
Assigned in Turkey in the following roles: country manager; Relationship manager with JV partner ENKA; Chairman of the board of the directors of Croatia motorway; also the project director for 3 Gas Fire Power projects in Turkey.
1996-1998 TEP- 6 / Kingdom of Saudi Arabia /Construction Director
Seconded with the Lucent technology as construction director for a 5.5 billion $ telephone expansion project.(#6) and responsible for all the construction activities associated with the project through the whole Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with 1000 subcontactors and with over 1400 personnel of construction.
1996 Bechtel / EAMS /Civil Operations Manager
Position involves control of all profit and loss responsibility for civil projects in the EAMS region. Day to day responsibilities involve directing 20 plus project managers assigned to a varity of projects world-wide in the building, aviation, water, road and rail sectors.
1988-1996 Bechtel / Ankara-Gerede Motorway, Turkey
Assigned to this mega project at its inception, and progressively assigned increasingly more senior roles.
As Senior Project Manager (5 years) was ultimately responsible for all project activities on this $ 1.5 bn, 229 km, 6 and 8 lane highway project. This included day to day liasing with government and Banking officials and with our Turkish JV partner.
As Construction Manager (1,5 years) was responsible for all highway construction activities including simultaneous work at numeous sites. Directly responsible for the smooth running of a workforce of over 5,000 TurkishEngineers, craftspersons and subcontractors,in six different departments.
As project Controls Manager, (2 years), was responsible for cost, scheduling, estimating and all computer systems employed on the project,including setting up training programmes for Turkish Engineers.
1986-1988 Bechtel / Project Controls Manager (formerly Technical Services)
Responsible to executive management for technical and administrative direction of 200 cost, scheduling and estimating personnel assigned to proposals and projects in both North America and on international assignments.
Also assigned as Project Manager for the installation of A temporary cooling system for the Houston Medical centre.
1982-1988 Bechtel / South Texas Nuclear Power Project/ Cost Schedule Manager
Responsible for developing revised cost estimates and schedules for this project after Bechtel took over the project from another contractor. Bechtel not only got the project back on track, but the orginal seven year schedule was achieved and the project completed within 3 % of the $6 bn. Budget.
Major assignments included an independent review of the South Texas Project cost/schedule information and a third party review of the Tenessee Valley Authority restart program.
In addition,undertook several special assignments from Executive Management for the TVA and Vogtle Nuclear Power project clients.
1980-1982 Bechtel/ Vogtle Power Project , Augusta, Georgia Executive Assistant to Customers Project Manager
Post Project completion,responsible for the ongoing customer interface with Bechtel and the implementation of ongoing customer cost/schedule/materials programmes.
